At age 50, having raised three daughters with her husband, Dr. Buddy Biggers, she decided to enter graduate school to study Clinical Psychology. At this time she had been in Jungian Analysis for three years and felt that the Junigian approach toward helping people better understand themselves was the orientation she was seeking in preparation to becoming a psychotherapist.

In her search for a graduate program that combined soul and psyche, she found Pacifica Graduate Institute in Santa Barbara California. For five years she commuted once a month from Asheville, North Carolina to Santa Barbara for three days of intensive study, ultimately obtaining both her Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology. She has been in private practice as a psychotherapist in Asheville since 1995.

Her practice includes working with adults, teenagers, children, families and couples (including straight, gay and lesbian), LGBT, as well as parenting issues.
